ITS Engineering College organized ninth webinar Employability – Skill Vs Knowledge

Greater Noida: This was yet another power pack webinar session with more than 90+ students participation in Fireside Chat webinar series Guest#9- Ms. Geetha Thaigarajan – India Head of HR and Global HRBP – Retail, FINASTRA Financial Services Ltd, Bengaluru .The Department of Corporate Resource Center, ITS Engineering College organized ninth webinar in its LIVE webinar series which is trending in Social media. This is an effort to bridge the gap between corporate leaders, academicians and students and share their experiences on all aspects of Human Resource Management and recruitment for placement 2021. Ms. Geetha Thaigarajan is one such leader who has exposed to major facts of HR in leadership role and possess a huge global & multicultural experience. She has close to 17+ year to working experience in some of the prominent companies like Deutsche Bank, Dell, ANZ, Société Generale and currently with a Digital Transformation company with a BFSI Clientele – FINASTRA.

2017 she was awarded by WHRD for ‘Innovation in Career Development’ and in 2018 was invited by BBC for a live show to discuss about  “AI vs Humans – Should Machines hire people”. She is a level 1 certified coach and volunteers to coach. She has also mentored few HR start-ups to scale from an idea to a product. She loves new ideas, considers herself a lifelong learner. As the world is moving towards Industry 4.0, HR transformation, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Bots and Algorithms…We need to know how to adapt and survive? At this time of COVID and lock down, we all are worried and want to understand how the employment takes its transformation? As there is a very thin line between knowledge and skill!

In this webinar we had a detailed discussion on topic “ EMPLOABILITY – Knowledge Vs Skill”

Ms. Geetha explained about the keys points on employability skills and how to expertise on knowledge base. She introduced another important factor “right attitude” between knowledge and skill in employability. During the process of developing skills and knowledge she also highlighted that we much focus on enhancing our communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity within us. She also explained about how HR’s have transformed themselves and gave an overall outlook of corporate world with her practical experiences. Students found this webinar very interesting and actively participated in the question and answer.
