 National Science Day Celebration at Grads International School

Greater Noida: To commemorate National Science Day, Science exhibition was organized at Grads International School, Greater Noida, in which all students participated in programs related to science. On this occasion, our  Guests of honour were Dr. (Brig) Rakesh Kumar Gupta, Director GIMS, Smt. Dipika Upadhya (Founder of Abhivira foundation, U. P. Officers wives Association), Advocate Ranjan Tomar (Environment and RTI activist ), Sumita Das (an educationist and social entrepreneur) and Dr. Roya Singh, director of the school. The esteemed panel of judges consisted of Dr P. Cheena Chawla (A Pusa scientist and innovative entrepreneur), Mrs. Neetika Duggal (Senior Chemistry Teacher), and Mr. Avijit Guha (Innovative entrepreneur and Science enthusiast). As we know, the basis of music is science and music is incomplete without science and vice versa, this program also paid a heartfelt tribute to our very own Swar Kokila, Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar ji. This programme was also dedicated to famous Indian scientists who helped us shape our nation.

Under this programme, hypocritical sadhus and tantriks were also exposed, who by taking the help of science, entrap innocent people. Apart from this, a street play was also organized explaining the usefulness of proper management of e-waste. Through this play, students also threw light on ‘My Waste – My Responsibility’: solid, liquid and electronic wastes.

Pre Primary children also conducted and exhibited science experiments. Primary school students explained the development of transport and science. They also explained the working model of the solar system. Students of computer science showed the development of computers,  communication and made a coded robot. The purpose of this exhibition was to create an interest in science among students and audience and fight superstitions, increase the ability to learn through the use of science and take the country forward on a scientific path, said the Principal of the school Mrs. Aditi Basu Roy.
