New Delhi/Greater Noida: A unique effort is being made to bring the taste of the country’s famous dishes to foreign countries, under which the artisans (confectioners) of renowned institutions across the country who make sweets, snacks and dishes are being tested to showcase the best of India. If he is an artisan, he will get a chance to show his skills in America. There are many such culinary artisans in the country who make very tasty dishes but they do not get recognition, Ashish Awasthi, originally from Kanpur, is trying to give global recognition to such people. These days, Alpha-1 is exploring the talent of India by staying in Rail Vihar Society of Greater Noida. Ashish, living in Chicago since 2012, is an engineering student from IIT Bombay. The final round selection process was held in Greater Noida, in which he was selected.
Ashish along with his team conducted the first phase test at Cook and Bake Academy Delhi on 21st and 22nd April to select the best taste by the best confectioner of India. In this test, more than 60 artisans from different states of India like Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Bihar, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Amritsar, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu were invited to showcase their best art. Ashish Awasthi said that Indians living in America are bored of eating canned foods, this is my attempt to bring Indian sweetness and cooking to America. He said that India’s best confectioners are being searched through four chains, out of which five people have been selected, our company will bear the entire expense of sending them to America.
